After six great seasons of running my beloved Parker 23 SE, the Hate to Wait, I have decided to sell it. I plan to purchase a much smaller and lighter boat that I can keep at home under the deck. The boat, motor, and equipment are all in very good condition. I bought the 2001 Parker as a one-year-old boat in January 2002. Since I have owned it, the boat has been kept on a lift during the season and on blocks at Tri-State Marine during the winter. It never has had bottom paint. All winterization and servicing have been done by Tri-State.

The motor is a 2001 Yamaha 200-hp HPDI. It has been an excellent motor. It has never failed to start and runs smoothly with plenty of power. I get 3 miles per gallon averaged over a whole season. That is not bad for a 2750-lb hull. I know that most boat owners today want 4-stroke engines. I think 4-strokes are great too. However, I encourage you not to overlook the HPDIs. My engine gets gas mileage similar to a 4-stroke, is almost as quiet at speeds above idle, and probably has better acceleration. It also put less weight on the transom. I have kept records of engine running time for every trip over six years. The annual total engine hours range from 63 to 91, with an average of 80 hours/year.

The features include:
- high-quality, heavy-duty Parker construction
- large sport fishing console with lockable electronic cabinet and seat with good cushions on front side
- 110 gallon fuel tank
- compass
- above-deck livewell (30 gallons)
- leaning post with 4-rod rocket launcher
- raw water washdown
- stainless steel hardware, including 5 flush-mount pull-up cleats
- 2 stainless steel built in-rod holders on each gunwale
- molded anchor locker on foredeck
- custom switch panel behind a sliding cover
- navigation lights
- bilge pump
- stern jump seats with hinged lid
- vertical rod storage for 4 rods and horizontal storage for 6 more rods
- self bailing cockpit with no-skid single level floor
- recessed trim tabs
- custom Sunbrella covers for console and leaning post/live well
- 4 life jackets and 1 throwable cushion
- anchor, chain, and rode
- set of dock lines
- fire extinguisher

Electronics:
- ICOM IC-M402S fixed mount VHF ( new in 2003)
- Digital VHF antenna (4’) (new in 2005)
- remote VHF speaker
- Lowrance LCX 111C HD large screen color fishfinder/chartplotter/GPS (new in 2007)

The boat does not come with a trailer.

Asking price - reduced to $18,500 on 8/17/08

I listed my Parker 23 SE in the Tidalifish classified ads over Memorial Day weekend. I have not had much interest (I know my timing is bad because of the high gas prices) so I decided to lower my asking price considerably to $24,000, and will consider other reasonable offers. Here is a great opportunity to move into a high quality and economical fishing boat for a reduced price.

This boat is a proven fish-catching machine -- it was well-known Chesapeake light tackle guide Capt. Richie Gaines' guiding boat during the 2001 season.

I just reduced the asking price to under $20K. Someone can get a great boat at a wonderful price.

Not sure if I would actually do it b/c of fuel prices and economy, but would you consider a trade (with additional cash consideration from me) from your 23SE to my 2001 1801 w/trailer?
You mentioned wanting a smaller, easily handled boat--wasn't sure if the 18' might be a fit, or if you meant more along the lines of a jon boat.
As all 1801 owners, I have given thought to stepping up. But, I do love the simplicity and ease of handling the 1801...particularly since I boat some in mountain lakes, so I am not sure...curious as much as anything.
Thanks

I am not opposed in concept to a trade, but my next boat must be considerably lighter than a 1801. I cannot keep a boat and trailer anywhere in view in my yard because of community covenants. I plan to get a light, small boat that I can roll under my raised deck in the back of the house. Practically speaking, my weight limit is probably about 1200 lbs for boat, motor, trailer, and gear.

If you have a small boat in that size range for a trade, I would consider a small boat plus cash.
