2003 2830 DVEC

Finally made it home. I purchased this boat new in 2003 with a partner. Moved to Florida 3 years ago and wasn't able to bring it. Partner wanted to keep his half so I sold him mine. Thought it would be the last chance at a 2830 but he decided to sell it to me last week. She just arrived in Florida and as getting a few things done at the marina before bringing her home. Here's a few pics. Now to sell that 2330....

Well it looked good for about a week and a half and then the hurricane hit. The sides look like it had drywall texturing done on it except with leaves/grass/…. I got them both washed and cleaned yesterday and they look great again. It will be a bit before I get inside pics as we still have a lot of cleanup to do with the storm.

Saw the wrath of hurricane Sandy in 2012. 12’ tidal surge hit while she was tied in her slip. No time to get her out onto land because of the long line of folks ahead of me. That being said, she failed much better in the water as the boats on blocks floated off and sunk because the petcock was left open and in the stern well.
From what I saw, the entire boat went under water being held my the dock lines and resurfaced once the tidal surge went back out. The interior didn’t have a drop of water in it and the cockpit was filled with a variety of shellfish. Same result for all the Parkers in my marina. Not the same great story for all the other brands of boats that surrounded us.
Needless to say the cockpit shellfish made free paella and it was delicious!
Hope yours faired as well. They’re built like tanks and can take a beating!

Thanks John. We had roof damage, leaks in the house, and a lot of trees down but did well other than that. Minor compared to some of my neighbors.
The boats did great. I had Tideslides on the 2830 and it held her solidly on my dock. Surge didn’t get over the pilings so we were lucky there. The outgoing surge at the beginning of the storm pulled almost all water out of the canals. You could walk across the canal and the boats were sitting on the sand for a while. The 2330 had a ton of lines on her plus a few anchors and did well also. Had the storm made landfall just a little farther north, I think we would have had surge like Ft Meyers and not been so lucky.
A lot of boats around me didn’t fare so well.

When I ordered the boat, It came with 300 gallons of fuel capacity in 3 tanks. Two 115 gallon tanks, one on starboard and one on port sides, and a 70 gallon tank in the center. Halfway through the build, they asked if I wanted to change to a single 250 gallon tank in the center. I opted to keep the 300 gallons. Mine does not have a hatch for fuel. It has a access area behind the cabin door that I can get to all three tanks. When I get back from this work trip I’ll take some pics to show you. If you have the single tank, your access is probably different with the hatch you’re asking about.

Yeah,l I have the big single hatch. I just can't seem to get it off/open. I'd be interested in what your hatch looks like if it's not a hassle.

Here’s a few pics I happened to have on my iPad. The first two show before the bait tank was installed and rest after. The two hatches in the center cover a fish box thats about 8” deep. Only one hatch is usable now with the bait tank installed. You can access the tanks from the two hatches in the far front and aft of the cockpit. (the ones on the other side of the fish box hatches)

Also, here’s schematics I have of the 2830. The first 4 or 5 boats had the 300 gallon combined fuel tanks and the rest had a single 250 gallon. Schematics are provided for both. Also is a planview with a double berth up front that only a few had. I got these when I originally ordered the boat. Glad I I did.

Thank you so much for those diagrams! I tried calling Parker today but couldn’t get through to who I needed to talk to. That seam that goes around all of your deck hatches is the same seam I have that I’m trying to remove without cutting.
