Saw the wrath of hurricane Sandy in 2012. 12’ tidal surge hit while she was tied in her slip. No time to get her out onto land because of the long line of folks ahead of me. That being said, she failed much better in the water as the boats on blocks floated off and sunk because the petcock was left open and in the stern well.
From what I saw, the entire boat went under water being held my the dock lines and resurfaced once the tidal surge went back out. The interior didn’t have a drop of water in it and the cockpit was filled with a variety of shellfish. Same result for all the Parkers in my marina. Not the same great story for all the other brands of boats that surrounded us.
Needless to say the cockpit shellfish made free paella and it was delicious!
Hope yours faired as well. They’re built like tanks and can take a beating!
