Hi everyone, I'm looking at purchasing a 2007 2820 XLD w/ twin Yamaha F250s... 490 hours...can anyone comment on this boat / engine combo? He was asking $89, I offered $65, and he accepted along with 3 axle trailer.
Boats seems to be in great shape, engines still have 2 yrs warranty.
Any advice / suggestions?
How's the ride in this 28 ft boat with 21 deg deadrise?
Do the F250s power the boat well?
Does anyone know how difficult it would be to remove the livewell that sits in the middle of the work area in the aft section?
Anything you all can provide would be much appreciated!

Dang!

An awesome boat at an awesome price!
Photos man... ya gotta post photos!

Thanks Megabyte...I appreciate the words...its a big purchase so anything that makes me feel more at ease is great news!

I will post pics as soon as I pick it up (hopefully this weekend)

I'm moving to Hawaii in June and am looking for a good dive / swim platform...I think I may have found it!

Well here she is! I can't believe I'm a Parker owner....

Woke up at 8am last Friday, worked until 1045pm (Central), drove to Panama City Beach to ready my old boat, left PCB at 4am on Sat morning for Jacksonville, sea trialed the Parker, towed it back to PC Beach...arrival at 7 pm ....well worth the journey!

Had the boat out the next day for some fishing and diving in the beautiful Gulf of Mexico...this boat really is a cadillac!

More questions to follow I'm sure!

when you move to hawaii are you going to drive it or have it cargo shipped ??

I'm on a waiting list for the Navy Space-A ship to Honolulu which is free! Otherwise, I'm paying to have it shipped (about $9500.00 paid for by the gov't). I'm towing it from Panama City to San Diego!!! Well worth the trip to have it in Hawaii!

Beautiful boat, BZ. Where are you keeping her in PCB? I keep mine at Tyndall...maybe we will see you out there.

Hey MV, I kept my old boat (25 ft Trophy WA) at Tyndall for a while then at the Navy NAS marina...the Parker is too big for rack and stack at the Navy base so now I trailer it to and from Fort Rucker...I think I may have seen your Parker out at Tyndall...is it a 25 or a 28??? I think I've seen two out at Tyndall???

That hull with my top cap would almost be the perfect Parker.

Hey Bryan,

I do love the larger cabin but I really like the deck space the sport cabin offers...I can't decide which is best....?

Awesome boat.
Look at the size of that dance floor! 8)

Thanks Megabyte....when I first pulled up to the boat I thought to myself...man...this might be too big...but it tows a lot easier than I imagined....and the space is well worth the lower fuel economy!!!

BZ. I've got the 2530 out there. Keep it in a wet slip during season, then in a dry slip during winter. There is a 2520, 2510 and 2310 out there as well in the dry slips. We still have a couple dry slips left at Tyndall if you want to keep it there vice trailering from Rucker.

Hey MV,

I might do that actually! Its a bear to tow this thing down every weekend from Fort Rucker. I was actually at the Tyndall Marina this past Saturday...terrible winds...and walked around the lot and noticed the 2310...didn't see the others though. The complements I've been getting on the boat around here are plentiful! Its not a ferrari but its about as practical as I can imagine for serious fishing and diving!
I'm headed out to the 3 x 5s this weekend..perhaps we'll stop in at Tyndall on our way back and say hello.

10-4 BZ. Good luck at the 3x5's. Let me know what the fish population looks like down there (I imagine you are diving). Did you have your boat at the Navy Base this past weekend? That's where I work and someone told me they saw a big, beautiful Parker coming through the gate. I may run into you this weekend...we are plannning to go to Crooked Island or Shell Island on Sunday. There are also a couple Cobia tourneys on Saturday I am considering on entering.

Greetings, BZ: After retiring from 30 years in the "canoe club", I believe I recognize the BZ "cut of the jib".

I'm one of the Parker (2520/Twin Yammies) owners at the Tyndall Marina. It's a great facility and presently has both wet and dry slips available.

If you are trailing the boat onto the base, coming in is easy through the 1st gate east of the bridge over the bay. Towing a boat of your size outbound through the gate is challenging because of numerous "security" (and I use the word snidely) barriers that make short radius twists and turns necessary. The key to easy egress is to let the gate sentry know ahead of time (when driving into the base) that you will be towing a large boat out and ask him to lower the barriers for you when he sees you coming. This gives the gate guard a chance to call his"flight chief" (?), to get permission to lower the barriers.

The Tyndall Yacht Club is a super facility; you'll like it.

Where in Hawaii will you be going? Retired? Active Duty? Pearl? Diver?

Regards,

Dan

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the advice on Tyndall, I appreciate that! I'll be headed there late Friday night / early Sat morning for a trip to the 3x5s this weekend. I have some maintenance to get done at Hart's Marine so I will probably be taking it with me when I'm done. I will be around the marina Sat night and all day Sunday in case you're around. I'd like to check oout your Parker and chat if you have some time as anything I can learn about these things the better.

I'll be headed to Wheeler Army Airfield (attached to Schofield) flying Chinooks for the Army. Yes, I'm active duty. Spent 8 years enlisted and commissioned a couple years ago, currently in flight school at Fort Rucker.

Yes, I am a diver. Got started two years ago when I first arrived at Rucker...its been a great time and I'm very much looking forward to diving and fishing in Hawaii!!!

Will you be around the marina this weekend at all?

Regards,

Christian

Greetings:

I'll be out there late Saturday afternoon, doing some annual maintenance. Look forward to meeting you.

Dan
