Preparations for this years spring launch have begun in earnest now the snow is over, and the recent monsoon as passed.

Saturday was spent replacing the forward bilge pump that got broken during the winter load-out. (an accident)
No big deal, but it was a bit tedious working through that pie-hole. :x

The rest of Saturday and all day Sunday was spent waxing and detailing.
I'm not sure what a Makita 9227 weighs, but by Sunday afternoon it felt like it weighed 30 pounds!

She still needs a coat of paint on her bottom and the motor needs a spring tune-up, but I'm (finally) on my way!

Lookin' good Kevin! :D How did your fwd bilge pump take a hit when you hauled her out? Seems like it would be a pretty protected area to have gotten whacked.

We had some serious winds up here this winter including a storm that featured 90mph winds that came through a few weeks ago. Tore up a good patch of the coast, and put a stress stretch "run" in my new tarp. Never saw anything like it before... the gale popped all the grommets out of the bottom of the tarp where they were laced together under the belly of the boat and the pressure parted the weave in the tarp.

No damage beneath the tarp though, and she survived to see another season. 8)

I generally keep the pie-plate out and the forward bilge area open to promote ventilation of the under deck space.

My grandkids were helping me with the winter load-out and my granddaughter stepped through the hole and onto the pump breaking it.
No big deal. She wasn't hurt and the pump was probably due for replacement anyway.

Pretty amazing to see how the wind stressed that tarp and s t r e t c h e d it! :D

Kevin

She is a sweet lookin rig
I love the spring
Its like the honeymoon all over again :D

Dropped the boat off at the Yamaha dealer last week for the 200 hour service (only has 181 but...) and annual check up.

Should get it back first half of this week.

Then finish the winter projects and gear up for grouper season, 1st of April.

Looks good. Spent my weekend the same way. 2 day's of cleaning and waxing. I still have the helm area to clean and wax. You got to love an early spring.
