Looks great! Where are you guys moving your running light to? I just ordered the 100" minnkota quest and gathering parts now. Also, is 1/2" aluminum plate something I can cut clean with a jigsaw or is it best to have a shop do the work?
Sound Marine in Long Island is making me a plate right now. They have the cad programming for the 2320, 2520 pulpit in there cpu. 1/2 aluminum has the holes already drilled and it’s powder coated for 375$. You cant beat it. They don’t really answer the phone so I just popped in and they told me a couple days. I’ll post there business card next.

Thanks! I will give them a call again tomorrow and see if they will ship one out to me.

Thanks for the info on this thread guys. I was able to contact Bob, (great guy) and he has a plate on the way to me that should be here Friday.

Anyone have any recommendations for a trolling motor installer in South NJ?

Bob is the man. Got my plate today, and it looks great. Super easy guy to deal with.

They aren’t that hard to do, takes some time to layout and all but not crazy hard. I’m in S Jersey and put a 84” Rhodan with lithium battery on my 21se last year.

Try Josh at Sundog Marina in Newport NJ it's near fortescue. He is also a Rhodan and Minn Kota dealer. He showed me a 23ft Parker he was doing an install on. Tell him Clayton Kelly sent ya.

Thanks for the info - I'll check in with them this week

I'm assuming it is aluminum. I wish I had a dxf file for that I have a waterjet to cut them. Even to get the bracket mounted would be a big step. Looks great.

Thanks for this great info! I'm going to call Bob tomorrow to get one of these plates. Do you know if it's the same for the 2120 as your 2320? I assume so, but want to know for sure....

Good morning.

I am going to install a Minn Kota Terrova Ipilot 36 volt 112 pound thrust trolling motor on the bow. I am conflicted now w/ the shaft length.

I purchased a new 87" Minn Kota, and it's sitting in my garage. This shaft is HUGE. I am concerned about mounting it on the bow and having so much shaft length. My goal is install it such that the entire trolly is within the bow rail foot print ( for docking and trailering and lift : which all have guide on pole obstructions).

I know the 72" shaft can be mounted 100% w/ in the constraints of the bow rail with no rail cutting.

I can not see how the 87" shaft is going to be contained 100% w/ in the bow rail / rub rail constraints.

I have the opportunity to sell this MK to a buddy for exactly what I paid for it. I would then purchase the 72" shaft.

Question to you fellas: Is the 87" shaft absolutely necessary for wreck anchoring offshore w/ the 2320 specs?

Is it worth sacrificing the convenience of mounting it and leaving it on ? Or is the inconvenience of removing it to trailer and dock and lift access trumped by the ability to anchor in any sea conditions knowing that the extra 15" will stay submerged even in 2-3 foot seas?

Thoughts?
Hello,
I have viewed your post a dozen times. I have a 21 2320 and want to mount a spot lock before retire. First of all how has it performed? Has it proven itself in open water? When I go fishing with friends, I don't do much fishing because am always resetting for the next drift. My close friend says you already have spot lock...its called an anchor and he is correct. However setting an anchor really is a PITA IMO. I have the money to purchase the elements and I have enough know how and friends to get it installed. I wanted to know if you would sell me the dxf file for the aluminum mount plate? I have a waterjet and I could cut that out. My email is [email protected]. If you get time please reply to me. Thank you. Eric Silva
