How high is your outboard mounted on transom? I have a 2011 2120 and from the factory it came mounted in the second hole from the top on my f150. A few months ago i decided to raise my outboard 1 hole and that puts the outboard in the third hole from the top. After several test runs and offshore trips i notice that my permatrim is so far underwater i cant even see it. I am using a stiletto ss prop and it does not blow out in sharp turns or rough water. Im 100% sure that i can raise my f150 all the way up to the last hole without any negative effects. Does anyone have their transom mounted outboard all the way up??

Mine is all the way up. Last year I added the Permatrim and raised the motor all the way up. All good. This year I added 12x18 tabs and I'm still evaluating. I think all is still good, but once running WOT against the current with almost full fuel, I experienced a little proposing returning. Dropping my engine trim back down a bump corrected it. It got me thinking about dropping the motor back down 1 hole, but only thinking about it? Logic being the tabs have lifted my stern more? I've made several 10 to 25 mile runs offshore in conditions from 2 to 4 swells and put it through pretty good paces and I've not had any blow out issues. This pic is of mine before I added the bigger tabs. Was running about 4500 RPM's I believe. Next time I'm at my boat I'll get someone to drive for me again so I can take another pic to see where it's riding with the bigger tabs. How much weight typically in the stern combined with the additional lift (Permatrim, tabs..) is the balancing act. My F225 is much heavier so it makes it harder to compare. I think just using where the Permatrim is riding is the best way for you to go?
