I got my 99' Parker (no bracket) in April & had my Suzuki dealer swap the 225 Yamaha 2 stroke for my 225 Suzuki 4 stroke. The boat is very nice & we are enjoying it, but I believe it still can be dialed in better than it is. Hoping to increase RPMs I went from a 3x16x20 prop to a 4x16x17, still only turning 5200. Planing got much easier, but it still comes up & runs listing to port - tabs take care of that though. I am wondering if lifting the motor 1 bolt hole may help increase the rpms. The cavitation plate appears to be good on the trailer, but when running it seems to be about 3" under water. I am currently on the 2nd hole down on my motor.
Any advice or input?

Thanks,

1) Cav/vent plate should be at the water's surface whilst on place at cruise.

2) WRONG prop ... send an email to or call Ken at www.propgods.com and ask for his recommendation on a prop. Buy one from him and maybe he'll buy your old prop from you - that's what I did.

My Suzi DF250 was setup with a stock OEM 3-blade prop from my Suzi dealer "as best they could" given the limited prop sized Suzi offers. Ken set me up with a 4-blade prop (16" diameter) from PowerTech and it is de BOMB! 1st off, I hit max RPMs as recommended and the power and torque is PHENOMENAL!

The boat also carries 9 aduslts on board at only 1-mph LESS than when I had 3 adults on board, on the SAME day and with the same conditions. I even added fuel after running with 3 people to ensure a 1-for-1 comparison.

With the new 4-blade prop ... my performance is UP, fuel economy is UP, and planing time is REDUCED. and overall handling is SUPER!

OB Height: With the old 3-blade prop I thought I had to raise the OB ... but with the 4-blade -she's right there at the surface ... lesson learned .. get the RIGHT prop on their 1st before worrying about motor height!

Thanks for the reply. I got rid of the OEM 3 blade and have a power tech 4 blade 17 pitch on the motor now and still have these issues. The 4 blade is great, but I still feel something is just not there.
