but our route is via Blackwater Bay to the pass.

Dang! That's a long run just to get to the Gulf and a lot of extra fuel.

Yes....Underpowered. These boats have Soooooooooooo Much room. It's easy to keep piling stuff on them.

You would be a lot happier with a 300Hp motor so you don't have to run the stem winding crap out of it.

Yeah, it is about 24 miles but we keep it at the dock in front of my daughter's house so dock fee is free==well sort of-we have rebuilt the dock about 5 times after the hurricanes wipe it out. The last time we took the pontoon boat across to the yellow river side and scavaged dock sections as well as removing those that ended up in daughter's house. Save some lumber costs there.

I like your rig--if I had the money=the extra cabin and the Suzie make it a great boat.

Megabyte, that looks like 27knots at 4400 RPM. That's great.

I think so.
The hull is a 1996 model year and the motor is a 1997 fuel injected 225 hp OX66 on a bracket.
The motor has been well maintained.

The boat is always loaded with fishing gear, a cooler and ice, and I like to keep the fuel topped off.
She is always 'heavy' because she has a rare factory option... 3 fuel tanks.
The main tank is 127 gals and the two wing tanks are 47 gals each.

I do not use the two wing tanks anymore and someday I'd like to cut the deck and remove them.
I'll bet that if I removed those tanks and everything associated with them I'd end up 400 pounds lighter.
Count the in-deck hatches. Two per tank.

We removed a fuel tank from our Californian last year. It was leaking so didn't mind cutting it up to get it out vice cutting the deck--but on the Parker don't really see any other way except to cut the deck.

Megabyte your boat looks really clean and well taken care of. Being an older model have you check underneath the deck to see if you have any wood rot. It appears you keep it at a dock out in the elements so there is higher risk for some potential problems.

Disclaimer: I'm a new owner and do NOT have my motor height/prop optimized yet.

I have 2003 2520xl 16degree MV with Yamaha F225 4 stroke on a bracket. Right now it has the Yamaha black stainless prop 15", 17 pitch.

Right now my WOT is 5400, with a speed of about 28kts. That is with 2 people on board, 100 gallons fuel, and about 600 to 800lbs gear.

We were able to cruise at about 4800 RPMs, and 24kts, and could have easily gone slower while maintaining plane.

Already have talked to Ken at PropGods and he recommended a Quicksilver Thunderbolt 15 3/4" prop, 15pitch, which will give me a little more hole shot, more top speed, and I'm assuming a lower RPMs at 24kts. To be determined, but I'm planning to set the motor height correctly once I find the right prop.

Personally I wouldn't want to fish 6 people offshore.......IMO that is too many.

6 is a piece of cake here in the Gulf for bottom fishing. With a two snapper limit that only gets us twelve. We are family oriented, living on the water or across the road from the family dock and there are 10 adults and 8 children as fisher persons or potential fisher person.
