just bought my first parker. 2007 2320. Can someone tell me why my battery switch is on the back of my transom exposed to the water. Is this normal for a Parker. And if it is can the water get in it and short it out. Never seen this before.

thanks
Phil

That is not normal, sounds like someone had a "better" idea.

Probably installed like that so it could be shut off by a lazy owner when the boat was on a trailer.

If its the red Perko switch the are mostly waterproof but I would definitely change that to the normal position inside the transom hatches somewhere. You can probably find the old screw holes.

I just bought a new 21 SE ...battery switch is under the stbd jumpseat....I thought it was odd too

Wondering if batteries and switch set up is a factory or dealer job :?:
A quick email to Parker should clear things up.
