Please note that while I am an avid boater having lived and worked on the water my entire life, I am no mechanic and have never pretended to be. When I went to replace my starboard side battery I did not take a picture of the wiring that I disconnected. Can anyone advise me on the wiring? I have not added anything extra to the boat since purchase with regards to battery connecting. Bost is 2008 23SE. Thanks for helping the mechanically inept.

Not sure this will help, but here goes...

Before and after shots.

Thanks guys. I got the red to postive and black to negative part, however it is the extra wiring that is throwing me off. We are experiencing a Nor'Easter today and tomorrow here in Delaware so I want gett to the boat until Friday. I will snap some pictures and seek your guidance then. Much appreciated.

Guys I have a picture to post or current wiring, but I am having trouble sizing the picture. Any advice?

I don't recognize the tan or yellow looking wire that has something attached that looks like a fuse...
If it is in fact a fuse, that is probably a positive as I've never seen a fused negative.
If it's not a fuse... ?????

The green going to the ground is correct. That is the bonding wire that goes to your fuel tank.
Pop the round deck hatch for your fuel tank and you will see the other end of it.
Notice that in my photo there are 3 greens. That is because I have 3 tanks.

The unattached black at the top of the photo looks like another ground, but I can't see where that one goes.

Here is a chart showing the ABYC wire color codes if it helps:

Thanks,. I belive the one with fuse, or such box, is bilge as when I touched to positive the bilge kicked on as there was some water in the hull.

Correct. When you re-connect power to the bilge pump, it will cycle briefly.
A high-water alarm will do the same.

Curious about what that is attached to the wire though.
Never seen a fuse like that.

Thanks again Kevin. Hoping to put the boat back to use in search of stripers as it seems this will be the best weekend we have had for awhile here in Delaware. The fish are just beginning to move in.

I have the same in-line fuse holder for my bilge pump (factory rigged). It's just a water-proof holder for a standard blade-fuse.

Agree...I believe it is wired directly to the float switch / bilge and allows for operation when the battery switch is off.

Never seen a fuse like that.

yes..It's a waterproof fuse holder for a ATC style fuse.

It's for getting power to the float switch and then to the bilge pump if the water rises and closes the float switch.

I'll be installing the same style fuse holders. Note I said "Holders" IE: more than one. I installed a backup bilge pump also.

Sorry...PhotoBucket in their infinite wisdom have Screwed the site up again. :(

Anyway I installed these today for both rear bilge pumps.

Got my P-touch more than 10 years ago and is still working like a champ. It comes with different fonts, borders, and symbols.

Any time I go on plane, I usually will glance at the bilge pump lights to see if there is any water down there.
The aft light used to flicker on until I chased down all the sources of water that can make its way into the bilge. Now it rarely comes on.
