Thinking of repower with F250. My 1999 ox66 lower unit gears are bad.
I have the 2310 with notch transom. What would you guys say is the best prop for this combination. Also should the engine be mounted at the second hole? I have read some good info here on the 2320 with a bracket but wonder if my set up would be different.

I would imagine you would be able to spin a 17 or 19 pitch depending on the style of prop. No real guidelines. However since you have a notched transom you might have the old saying that the cav plate should be even with the bottom of the hull not sure exactly which hole that would be.

Bob:

Looks like many recommend new/rebuilt after-market lower units from SEI (http://www.sterndrive.cc/) for ~$900 with 3-year warranty.

Sure would be nice to upgrade to a F250, but for < $1K to get a new LU you can bolt up by yourself ... deal closer to me. Otherwise, if you are buying new, I'll buy your old motor.
