do all outrigger bases have the same bolt pattern?

I have a set of taco rigger mounts I have come up with a plan to mount them to my flybridge, but am not sure if I will end up wanting them forever, as they are the lift and turn gunnel mounts, wondering if I decide to go to grandslams will they mount up to the same bolting pattern?

thanks

probably not, but i would bet that the major holes could be adapted to work with different bases. most likely you'll need to fill and redrill the bolt holes. you might get lucky and have them line up, but i doubt it. not sure which Taco's youre referring to, do they go through the roof? i have the GrandSlams and theyre awesome.

The taco rigger mounts are the gunnel mounts that look like a mini rod holder, and have a bent piece of tubing that fittins into them, which hold the rigger, you lift and turn the rigger to go from deployed to straight vertical for running. I have heard they are not the best from people, but most people say this is because they dont get your lines high enough. If I mount them higher on the pilot house or second station, it seems that they would be better? Still not sure yet.

Any update on this thread? I've been looking at getting a set of Taco GS250s to mount on the top of my pilothouse... Any experience with this or a similar setup? Not looking forward to drilling massive holes in the top of my pilothouse.
Thanks

Although I would agree, repairing holes in the top (or anywhere else for that matter) isn't all that difficult.
Peruse the Projects section and there is a lot of content on how to deal with holes.

Hey Pelagic,
I just got a set of Grand Slam 250As and want to mount them on my hard top. How was your install? Was the hard top not too thick? Do you have a pilothouse?
Thanks!

Yep, pilothouse all the way  the install wasn't too bad, really, as long as you're not squeamish about drilling the holes. as I'm sure we've all heard about a million times, make sure you seal the core with thinned epoxy, Git Rot, or something of the like. As I recall, the bolts that came with the bases were too short for the install with the backing plates, which I definitely recommend. not a big deal, just had to get some new bolts. the hardest part is figuring out where you want to mount them, and then making sure they're symmetrical. i mounted mine on the inside of the pilothouse, about a foot forward of the after bulkhead (or curtain lip, in my case) and a 8" to a foot inboard, the exact measurement escapes me. make sure you'll have room to swing the handle to deploy the riggers, and it helps to visualize where the handles are going to be when stowed and deployed to minimize head hazards. But, like I said, overall not too bad.
