Greetings:

In performing an annual change-out of foot oil in my 150HP Yammies, I've noticed that the oil from the port engine always comes out darker than the starboard engine. It's not "milky", and I have no evidence of water or metal filings; the engines perform identically fine and I haven't had any problems with with the shifting mechanisms.

Has anybody out there had a similar experience, and if so, what could be the cause? Is this something to be concerned about?

No worries, happens in my bro's rig running twin '87 vintage Yam 150s. Also, one carbons up more than the other, most probably due to internal finished of the castings. Nothing to worry about ...
