Not really a project, but I have the Honda 2000 generator, use it alot and not had any service on it ever, anybody know what they do for the 20 hr service and can I do it myself, is it just new plug and new oil ?

I'll confess here I am a great abuser of equipment.... I start off with good intentions to always treat them well....

I've got a 2000 and all I've done is change the oil when I think about it...

I can't imagine they call for maint. you can't do yourself.... I'll be interested to hear what we are "supposed to do".

I'm sure I have over 150 hours on mine.

Can you guys tell me about your Honda Generators???

I looked at them at the boat show this year and think it is the way to go for a Parker. How do you run them, Where, Do you use it to charge on shore power etc. I would really like to hear some input. Thanks.

Well, Richard, I am the same, still have not had a 20 hour service on my Dingy motor, but we do take care of it, I took the generator to the locale lawnmower shop, $20.00 to change oil and basic tune !

I use my generator for my microwave/coffee maker, my wife and I love fresh coffee on the boat :), bascally everything that uses power, 110 that is, it is very convenient, and I wanted to have an inverter and all that installed, but it just seemed easer with the generator, I started with a Yamaha 1000, but would not work, oh yea, my son likes micro pop corn :), we do use the jiffy pop with the butane camper stove. The generator is fairly small, semi light and quiet and you can move around , depending on the direction of the wind !

All we ever do is change the oil. I suppose if I got hard to start, a new plug would be in order?

Nick, I like your style :):):):) If I ever fish with you, we will be fat, happy, cool and wired :)

We only pretend to fish...don't carry any gear. Like you, we drop the hook, but instead of getting out the pole, we get out a beer. Not having to land a fish lets us totally focus on being laid back...just taking it all in. Like you, we come home fishless, but when we got home, we have a big sh## eaten grin on our face because we don't have to make any excuses for getting skunked. :D

Anyway, thanks for the compliment...we need to share a fender and a brew with you someplace.
