Been spending a lot of time in the box doing the wiring. Have used paper towel rolls, extra long screwdrivers and anything else to wedge it open while working in there.

Anyone rig something to keep it open that works and is easy?

No... but dayum!
The factory has done a much nicer job of finishing that area off then they did in 1996! 8)

Nice!

Wire tie ( long one ) to one of those screws for the molding, I have radar wiring attached up there so I use a wire tie and it works, have hit my head many times from falling door :)

My 2530, bought used has a wire tie screwed into the ceiling just above the door that loops around the screw that holds the door shut. IT is loose enought to slide on and off. The boat is a 2003 and I don't know if that is factory setup or if the previous owner did it. Works well and not very intrusive. I'll try to take a picture this weekend.

rotate it like greatcir replied, or get tricky, cut and refit the hinge on the right side . Waa Laa now it opens like door

Funny, thats been on my project list for a while. Havent decided what to do yet. Was thinking about one of those spring supports but am not sure yet.

OK. Did the 3 cent solution. Tied a piece of 40lb test to the screw that holds the trim up at the top, tied a loop around the bitter end and put it around the little bolt they use to fit into the latch. Voila!

I open the access door, then open the port hole window and wedge it up against the access door to hold it open. Also provides a nice breeze while you're working in there.

I tried that idea first, as it was the easiest. Mine does not reach. In other words, the window is too far away from the hatch.

I think if you hold that door up, then open the starboard window in the v-bunk, the elec panel door will rest on top of that...at least thats how I think I managed last time.

I tried that until the blood gushing from my head blurred my vision. I gues I learned the hard way. That post in the latch is vicious!

I would do what greatcir recommended. Remove the 10 screws and turn 180 degrees and replace screws. Have already did that to my companion seats so you don't have to rest that screw on your head when reaching in.

Speaking of companion seats, I attached a line with a loop to the grab handle on each side of the pilothouse door so I can loop it over that screw when the door needs to stay open. Avoids unintended door opening due to heavy seas or broken plastic parts that the screw goes into.

I turned mine upside down and intstalled a cheap brass chain to keep it level when open
