Moisture and mildew/mold in every compartment - water just gets in there under console seat . Its always wet in the center console helm compartments . Is this just from condensation because its not sealed with a gasket properly or is this how all boats are. I've had it for a couple of years -first boat . It is annoying -especially when I'm scrubbing the heck out of it now .

My 2005 1801 console doesn't have any mold. I air it out when ever possible. Also, I have a console cover (but it doesn't cover the console seat).

One of these:

I've got one for the console and one for the leaning post. Mine is an older version console cover with a simple cord drawstring on the bottom. The newer version shown looks like it may cover the console seat.

just seems to be constantly wet in there -If it goes a few days without being aired out -it starts to grow mildew on things like the extra life preservers etc .... I can see a cover to protect the vinyl etc - but these compartments should be watertight ....I also have to change the deck plates because one of them is leaking ....

at least on my boat...the wheel hub, rocker panel, and other flush mounted items were not sealed off with anything so any rain dripped right in. I used GE silicone in almond color, direct match, to seal these items but not glue down. That being said it did reduce the rain drip around the wheel and rocker panel, but I added a console cover and that sealed the deal :p even in heavy rains and wind.
