Hello.
BradH posted some craigslist ads.
I called the Baltimore one.
Yesterday after work I drove to Maryland after stopping at the bank.
3 hours later I arrived to find an 01 HPDI transom mounted on a 21 foot cc Parker.
After speaker get with the 73 yo owner and waiting for his 47 yo son we pulled the plugs and hooked up the muffs. All 6 cylinders were between 108 and 120psi.
Engine looked real clean. Anodes were in good shape and there was zero corrosion except some minor paint chipping and pitting on the lower unit. Put plugs back in, hitched up and headed to the Susquehanna River at the mouth of the Chesapeake. Dunked the boat and she started right up doing the 2 step quiver that the 2 strokes I'm familiar with do.
After testing the outboard pretty good I decided to plunk down the cash. Next it was back on the trailer and brought to the shop and in an hour the engine was loaded onto my truck for the long ride back home. Today I removed my 2000 HPDI from my 2320 sport cabin notched transom and mounted this unit. Yesterday's deal included extra yamalube, power trim unit, remote oil tank and pump and harness, prop, lower unit and what looks like a nice red anodized sea star steering setup. Tomorrow I got to reinstall the lower unit. The "new" lower units waterpump looks old. Put the linkage, battery connections fuel and oil lines back up and reconnect all three electrical plugs and whatever other incidentals it needs. I can't wait to splash this with the new used engine as there's some unfinished business I have with the underwater slimy smelly fellas. I'm hoping to drop a line tomorrow and I'll keep you guys posted. Thank you again Mr. BradH for the effort and post. It helped me out tremendously!
