What a beautiful day on the water. Could not have asked for a better day. It was flat calm, the sun was shining, and I had great company.

I had a couple of die-hard fisherman as my crew as we trolled the area I worked on opening day. While we were expecting a more active bite, we ended up with a nice day of around 12 or so fish. I had a hard time staying on the bait today but when we found it, it was thick and we caught fish. Fish were on the smaller side and mostly males. We attempted to release any fish with roe in them. The largest fish went around 38" and most were in the low-mid 30's range with one that was a dink. The hot lure of the day was a deep green umbrella off the boat, but the planers did catch the most fish.

I am sure the big fish bite will be coming back soon as the fish leave the rivers from their spawn. Cant wait to get out again! I think my next day will be Friday! 8)

Photos to come from my crew later

Anthony, today was the day to be out weather-wise. It was perfect. Tomorrow should be good in the morning but get nasty as the day goes on.

If you are out in the am, tune into vhf 72. Skip and other TF'ers will be out there just south of the bridge and you guys can work together to find fish.

Here are some shots from the day!
