Live well water intake valve?

My live well seems to be filling up for no apparent reason. After doing a search it seems that that my water intake valve may be open. Where do I access the valve? And what's the proper position for it to be in?

There should be a seacock in the stern bilge, accessible via the lazarette hatch. CLOSE the seacock by turning the valve handle so it is perpeddicular to the run of hose/seacock.

I had the same problem, as described at http://www.classicparker.com/phpBB2/vie ... php?t=4661. Since I closed the valve, I have had no water coming into the live well.

On my 23 SE, the valve can be reached through the hatch near the stern where the oil tank is located. It is a lever-type valve handle to the port side.
