I just bought a leaning post with the intention of replacing my pedestal seats. I found that the screws dolding the bases to the top of the livewell/console are actually bolts not screws. I can access one set of nuts(where the access panel is)but cant figure out how to get access to the other side? Do I have to remove the well from the deck? I hope not!
Thanks.Jerry

Yes you do. They are through-bolted in front and on the side opposite the access panel. You will need to disconnect pump hoses and remove.

I have the same boat and have done the same thing (except replaced old style leaning post with new custom one).

What leaning post are you replacing with.

Hey Ryan,I think Im going to avoid removing the whole thing,Im going to put another access panel(Beckson plate) to match the one on the other side.
I contacted Dan @ NC Customs(I think),they are one of the companies that made the OEM ones for Parker. It just arrived today, its a piece of art! Removable backrest and 4 tulip rod holders, very nice work and OEM cushions !
PM me if you need more info.
Jerry. :D

how about some pix? when we remove the captains chairs we cut another hole on the starboard side for a 8" hand hole cover so you can remove the through bolts & to through bolt the leaning post in...we also built custom leaning posts
