So I was talking to an outboard dealer today who said it's fine to run your 225 four stroke at idle for limited amounts of time just hooking up a hose to the flush hose hook-up on the side of the motor. Thoughts?

As far as I know, the Yamaha motors only have a small single-bladed 'tilt lock' which takes the load off the tilt cylinder when raised all the way up. This is NOT akin to a true trailering lock like the OMC/Bomb design which is a heavy twin-arm forging that holds the motor about 1/2-way up/down and was expressly designed for trailering. The OMC design also uses a separate tilt lock too.Dabbie7":z5gxme4o said:When you trailer your 25 do you tilt the motor up and then rest it on the tilt support lever and ride that way or do you have a seperate support from motor to trailer frame?
