Mounting Garelick Ladder

I will be installing a Garelick #19536 (bought used) on a 21 SE, was thinking 316 SS screws (WMarine Type D, Size 1/4-20 x 2; 149463) for the stern mount.

Will 2" bolts be long enough, and does anyone bother to use small aluminum backing plates for this install, or just several SS washers of increasing size?

Not sure on the length.

I'd do a fender washer on the inside with a regular or AN washer on top of that. Either nylok or an acorn nut with locktite if you're going to be hitting it a lot.

I would drill the holes a little oversize and coat with epoxy and let it kick before assembling with 4200.
