Need Yamaha Wiring Harness Help

Below are two diagrams of wiring harnesses for Yamaha outboards. I have a 1999 2 stroke 200hp SW Series II. Can anyone help me with the correct colors and connections for the harnesses? Why are they different? I have a new key switch with buzzer and kill switch. I also have an analog tach with oil alarm lights.

Well I think I figured out these harnesses. #1 is definitely a Yamaha, and I believe #2 is a 1978 and newer Mercury harness. I did not know that the two harness plugs were interchangable. I guess as long as I know what wire does what it really doesn't matter what color it is.

No. 2 does sound like a Merc harness to me...unless it's the old '80s style Yamaha harness. I've never seen one of those though.

From what I remember of my 200 OX66s and their harnesses, the engine-side plug is way different on the Yamaha harness than it is on the Merc harness.
