Hey Y'all - I came here looking for info on installing a bow mounted trolling motor on my 1801. I fish the lower Patuxent and tributaries out into the bay.

I made the mistake of putting my trollling motor on the port side. Batteries in the aft port corner locker. Aggravated what was a minor port list with me standing at the wheel. Finally moved the batteries to the locker under the front console seat, on the right side. Much better.
Glad to hear you figured it out. I’ll put the batteries under the front console seat. Thanks for the advice.

I have a motorguide xi5 bowmounted on my 1801 and a MK on-board charger in the console. I did not install myself so I'm not sure I can be too helpful with that aspect of it, but here is a pic from. While I only used it a handful of times per year, it is awesome to have. I mostly used it to slow down a drift, hold a spot, and fish bridge pilings. It could memorize routes and do some other cool things but I rarely used that set of features.
