Just picked up a boat I’ve been drooling over for years, a parker 2501dv. I love the open center console style boats. I’m interested to see what props and what mounting hight your guys motors are I have twin f150s also I want to add rod holders, maybe on the transom? How about bait board ideas? Pictures of your favorite mods would be much appreciated!!

Congratulations on the new boat! Some pictures (always appreciated anyway) will go a long way towards helping you out with your transom rod holder question, as Parker has used several different designs over the years.

Don't get THAT hung up on engine height yet. It may be good for a hundred RPMs and it keeps the props buried in the rough.
Run it and learn it, then make incremental changes. Give it a year. I didn't and wish I had.
One of the best changes I made was changing to 18" wide tab blades. It should have been the first.
I also think two of the most popular changes work against each other. The Rev-4s and permatrims, due to the way a stern-lifting prop actually "lifts."

Thanks! I just ordered perma trims last night after an uncomfortable ride in last weekend. At around 18mph the boat didn’t want to stay on plan and it was really hard to keep the bow down low enough to see I’m hoping to get a more level ride without to much tab.

I had really good luck on my 1801 and my cats with knock off whale tails but I was never concerned about speed or mpg and this boat I am. I went with the actual permatrim brand for the clean look of it that was my biggest grip is how stupid they look when parked at the marina hopping the permatrim doesn’t stand out as much at double the cost
 
There are documented issues here where user or users had problems with the PTs that mount on TOP of the anti-ventilation plate. Based on nothing but those, I would shoot for one that mounts under the AV plate.

I ordered the ones on top of the cavitation plate unfortunately that’s what was recommended for twins. What issues did people have? Any links
 
You can 100% do the under design on twins. Mine made a massive difference along with 4 blade props and are exactly what you need to plane around the 18 mph target.
 
The undermount Permatrims work great on my twin Yamaha 150s. The boat is a 2008 2520XLD.

What’s the performance with permatrims and what props are you running? Unfortunately i purchased the over the top ones because from my understanding that’s what was recommend on the site
 
I ordered what the recommended Permatrim's were for my outboards. Having owned 4 previous boats with Permatrims, I did not conduct an in-depth before and after test. I can now plane faster and at lower speeds. Fuel has economy improved .2 to .3 mpg. So on a 150 mile trip I save 10 to 20 gallons of fuel based on ocean conditions. We run heavy.
 
have the permatrim bolts held up pretty well to rust for everyone? I just installed mine and I'm wondering now if I should've swapped them out for a 316 stainless rather than the 18-8 they come standard with. I'm assuming they're fine but just curious what folks that I've been writing them for a while are seeing. Thank you

They will be fine. Any ss bolt is subject to crevice corrosion if not bedded properly. It's not my opinion, I'm just a missionary for the truth. Just follow the permatrim instructions for sealant, and don't make any "crevices."
If you see rust, metal has gone away and hardware has weakend.
FYI, regular old Barkeepers Friend will re-passivate stainless steel. Gemlux used to sell a paste that did the same thing.

Ospho is great as well. Brush on with a toothbrush, let it sit a minute or so and brush off....it protects or helps passivate as well. I was told this by another NC boat builder Jones Brothers. Only in the stainless though...U wouldn't leave it in your gelcoat.

Is yours a deep v? What mounting hole are your outboards on
