After corresponding with Dom (96TL) and taking lots of measurements I decided to buy a Yetti 150 cube. My other 150 qt long cooler never really fit right on the deck. The new cube foot print allows it to go in several different places. Makes a nice table too. 8)

I own a 40qt cube and a 70 oblong and love em both.
Nice choice! :)

It should "take a lickin and keep on tickin." I've got some ice blocks in it right now cooling it off. Will try it out tomorrow on the water. I put some of the non-skid diamond tred stuff in the corners with some 5200.......it's not going anywhere. :)

Tried out the Icey-tek today......very nice. After cooling off the inside with an ice block overnight, the inside of the box was ice cold. Didn't even really need any ice to keep drinks and other items cold.

Even though this thing cost about $100 more than the Igloo 150 marine cooler, I can see it paying for itself (due to less ice usage) in the long run. 8)

where did you boys pick yours up?
I am going to order 2 this weekend and hopefully save on the sales tax and shipping if possible.
thanks

Fish:

Wasn't easy for me to find the one I wanted. Had to call Yeti.....got the number off their website. They told me where to go.

Igloo Marine 150=$225 yeti/icey-tek 150 cube=$305........36" covers any size grouper or snapper I would keep. I keep all my goliath grouper in the factory transom fish box which is 8'.

The beauty of the icey-tek is its ability to keep ice up to 11 days. Even if I just cool off the fish in the transom box, I can throw them in the icey-tek even without ice and the box will maintain the temperature. 8)

$895.00 for a cooler barely big enough to put a 3' fish in?

I have a 35" striped bass in the mid-teens in a 55qt "long" Roughneck right now. The cooler is only 26" long inside. The fish curls up a bit.

The 450qt $895 cooler you are looking at is "cube" style. An equally priced cooler in the "long" model is the 270qt model at $725 and is 54" long inside.

thanks for the link to cosmic.
just ordered a 45 qt for beverages and snacks.

You will love that one.

I can put a 30 pak of Miller Lite in mine with plenty of room left over for ice and sandwiches. It's the perfect size for the way I use my cooler.
My 70 qt is only used for tournements and special occasions.

I think my 65qt Tundra is too big for regular use too. It's nice because it serves as a bench seat as well, but the 45qt Tundra would've been perfect.

Kev as usual I am swimming in your wake.
I am hoping it fits nicely infront of the port lazzerette. Big enough for a days beverages, sandwiches and other assorted junk food treats.

It will be.

Dom has done the research on these and will chime in i'm sure. my dilemma was finding one with the right dimensions.....the rough neck. i think the tundra and sherpa are a little more finished on the outside and come in different dimensions.

Does anyone have a source of supply for replacement drain plugs and the black washers?
I discovered that the plugs float... and the washers do not.

I got this one for $75.00 at Wal-Mart. LOVE IT! It is 150qt and holds several 45" plus Rockfish and up to 225 Cans of BEER!! Keeps them cold all weekend. I used it this weekend left it outside from Wed to Sun in 90 degree weather and was still full of ice when I emptied it. It is not as durable as the icy tech but I do not leave it on the boat or in the sun when not in use and have owned it for 2 years and it is still like new. It comes with two dividers to section off drinks or fish. Can't beat it for the price and I even went to Boaters World and got the cushion for the 150 qt Igloo and it fit the top perfect adding some much needed seating in the cockpit. Just got a couple of screw snaps to put on the cooler and it snaps right on. I considered the icytech but didn't seem worth the extra money as I only use it for two-three day outings and it always does well, besides I own an ice machine that will produce 600lbs a day. Save your money on the cooler and save up for an ice machine. If you fish often the ice machine will surely pay for itself, mine has several times.
