i've got a 150 qt marine cooler in that dimension from Sam's Club for $58......pretty good cooler. i needed a taller 150 in a cube shape to make it work on my deck. the long 150 is a bit awkward as i don't carry any heavy weight aft of my livewell which is mounted in the center of the cockpit. nor do i need to carry as much ice which also cuts down on weight and reduces fuel consumption. there are many factors to consider.

I put mine all the way to the Port side during travel across from the rear station and once in fish mode I move it to the center of the cockpit. That way I can walk completely around it and even sit on it if needed while fighting a big fish in rough seas. I like it low so you feel "In" the boat when sitting on it. I can see where this shape does not work well for your configuration. I picked this one for the price, shape and dual lid. The dual lid is nice when someone is sitting on it you can get a beer without asking them to get up. I was offered a icytek cooler for free from a friend but it was a little old and 450 liter A little too big for my Parker. I may get it for a house party cooler or a make ship coffin (if I need one in a hurry)

Save your money on the cooler and save up for an ice machine.

You are a lucky man! :)

Thanks, but I got a deal I could not pass up on the ice machine and allways dreamed of owning one. I hate paying $2.00 for 5lbs of frozen water. Between the two coolers I pack 250#s of ice for a fishing trip. I'm actually pretty cheap (or frugal I like to say) and love saving money. I have a friend who is in the HVAC trade and comes across used ones real cheap and actually has one now he is fixing to sell. If you are interested I will post it here when it is fixed. It is an older one but get the job done just the same.

i've been watching the cooler since i placed it in that location. sometimes i like to just sit back and observe things to see how they get used.

besides the obvious use as a cooler, so far, Larry used it as a seat while fishing in the hot sun. he sat with his back up against the bulkhead with his legs crossed while watching his two poles in the rod holders. that location puts it nicely under the fishing shade i made. also, while cooking out on the 4th, it made a nice table to put food and drinks on.

since it is supposed to be water tight, i'm guessing it will come in handy for dry storage as well. 8)
