What do you guys think about a 90 2 stroke yamaha on an 18 parker it is a 2008 the hull is an 1988 that I'm working on but the 02 mercury 90 has some issues. Any input on that motor reliability wise and power wise?

Thanks
Camron

Very true. I would really like to find a decent used 140 suzuki but they are hard to find with the 20 inch shaft. Has anyone resides there transom a to accommodate a 25 inch motor? At that point I would have more options.

My guess is it will be fine but far from a rocket ship, and fuel economy will not be anywhere near what a 4 stroke will be. Just make sure you prop it right. Will also make the boat much more difficult to sell later on, if that matters to you.

This all coming from a Yam V4 2 stroke lover.

I have a 2001 merc 90 2 stroke on. 1990 hull. I love it. Plenty of power and runs 34 mph. 3.5 mpg.

That's actually the engine that is on the boat now but it has a hole in the power head still runs good but I can't see putting it back on there just to have a problem with it later on and waist valuable north east boating days trying to find another engine. Looking for a 115 or 140 suzuki depending on what I find first. If anyone knows of something for sale let me know.
