Highly recommend, excellent tour, reach out to Travis, (252) 728-5621. Huge facility, toured everything; the molds (all models), cut room, clean and wax mold stations, individual component molds, gel coat booths, cnc machine to cut fiberglass, stringer installation, initial rigging (fuel tanks installed, thru hull hole cutouts, foaming), additional rigging and more rigging, customer electronics, QA inspections. During Covid Travis said 60 to 70 boats a month, now recall saying 40 to 50. Was surprised to hear taking pictures okay, (though left my cellphone in car). All models switched to Coosa, though three on the floor were final with encapsulated wood. Stringer patterns clearly available to see for different models.
Many takeaways, though one that stands out is all of the hand labor and labor. Because of automation, I don’t think one can compare costs between, say, high end vehicles and boats. Not that I like the cost of quality new boats.
Anyways, recommend the tour if in area, was welcomed and shown every step.
