Just started having trouble with my '02 yamaha pwr t&t switch. I'm referring to the rocker switch on the throttle as the switch on the motor works fine. The up position only works on the first try about half of the time. If I hit down and immediately hit up it usually works. Sometimes if I hold it down for a little while or hit it multiple times it will work. Only having touble raising the engine and again only from the throttle switch. Sounds like a bad connection/faulty wire? Anyone go thru this?

Switch is likely corroded, can you spray in any lube? Else it is worn out ...

yeah doing it now. I sprayed it with corrosion blocker and it works a little better. I took the whole switch out its just a little thing with its own wire. So far the corrosion blocker has helped its still not perfect. Eventually when it stops working again ill just replace it. You can get to the switch since its all inside a sealed unit. But you can spray around the button with it laying flat and it should seep in.
