Hi

I am currently actively looking for a new (to me) boat and Parker is at the top of the list. I am still trying to figure out all of the models, nomenclature and differences but one thing that has me stumped is the question of a lack of a live baitwell on any of the boats I've looked at.

So knowing that you fishermen in Parker nation have solved this problem I would like to know how. Some of the transoms have what looks like a 12 inch width and have 2 good size fish boxes. (I'm working from pictures often) Can one of those boxes be retrofitted as a bailtwell?

Any help would be appreciated and get me out on Block/Long Island sound sooner this Summer.

As for introduction I am a 2 year recent retiree who still woks part time. I live in narragansetts Rhode Island and enjoy fishing, boating and diving.

Appreciate any help you much more experienced folks can offer.

Thanks

Brian

Brian welcome to the site!! This is a great site with a ton of info on Parker boats!!! I bought a 2320 this past winter and I too was trying to figure out what I was going to do for a bait tank. My Parker has the stern storage bin which I thought about turning into a live well but the fact that it isn't round and the depth of the box had be concerned. So I decided to buy an external tank. I keep it in the cockpit of the boat and have it tied into my wash down pump and the drain runs out the deck scupper. The tank is a 35 gallon and I think it ran me about 120$. I like it this way to becuase I can remove it when im not fishing. I dont have a great picture of it but it gives you a general idea. Hope this helped.

Thanks Mike

We'll see what others might say but I think you have a very logical solution. Assume it is secure enough enroute so as not to bounce around underway.

Thanks for the input now I just need to find the right Parker :)

Yup, I use same type. When fishing - it's on the boat. When I'm out with family or just cruising - it's at the boat club.

Believe me, with 40 or thereabouts gallons of water @ ~8.5 pounds per gallon (saltwater is heavier than freshwater) in the well, that gives you a lot of mass that stays stable on the deck! If it's rough enough out there off BI to upset your baitwell ... you sure wouldn't be able to stand upright on that deck and fish ;) !

Point taken. Thanks for the advice and help.

Still looking for the right Parker.

Thanks again
