dale might have said he uses lifecaulk I cant remember but what should be used when putting in the frame of the hatch (talking about the rear cockpit hatch to aft bilge)? The old stuff looks like silicone to me. Certainly 5200 would be "too" permanent. Is 4200 just as permanent? Lowes white silicone ok? thanks

Life Caulk is a polysulfide and can melt plastic. Life Seal is said to be OK cause it's silicone/polyurethane mix. Never tried it.

I used 3M4000 UV on my hatches, its a polyether not a polyurethane like 52 and 42...they don't get along with most plastics, and are not UV stabilized like the 4000 is (black 52 might be). It's also much easier to tool and clean up than silicone.

Silicone should be fine, but I hate the removing it when the time comes. 3M and GE silicones are good stuff, the almond color matches OK too.
