Running a New Anchor Light Wire from the T-Top

Was wondering if anyone had to fish a new wire from the anchor light fixed on top of a t-top? I have no continuity in the 12V wire and likely need to run a new wire from up top into the console. Any tips would be helpful. The boat is a 2801. Thank you.

Try using a magnet on the outside along with 50lb braid and a small washer (non SS) or paperclip on the inside of the tubing. Protect your tubing (outside) with painters tape. Move your magnet along the tubing to the exit hole and the metal/braid combo will follow. Then use the braid as a wire pull or replace braid with pull tape. Good Luck!

Why not just use the existing wire as the "pull" for the new wire?

Use the existing wire if not broken.......The magnet / washer will not work.

What we use is thin nylon string....Like used to layout construction build lines.

You tie a cotton ball to it.....Then use a shop vac to suck it thru.....Works well.

I used the old wire to pull a new one, only after finding out that Parker butt spliced the anchor light and aft flood negative wires together inside the tube, so watch out for that. Maybe leave a line in place to make pulling something in the future easier.
