How do store/carry your sinkers?

The gentlemen I bought my boat from left a lot of them on the boat. He had them under the seats in plastic containers. Needless to say the containers are all busted up.

I remember seeing something like a home made shelf with cubby holes in it I was thinking like that under the gunwales divided up for the different sizes and styles.

I use the smaller sized plastic 'coffee cans'.
Folgers makes some that are just the right size for assorted inline weights.

I use old Kraft parmesan cheese containers. They are clear and have the small holes at the top. I actually put jigs and lures in them. When I'm done, I can flush with water and let the holes act as "strainer". Leave the lid open to air dry.

I use the round plastic dividers that go in 5 gal buckets. You can get them at Home Depot and Lowes. The ones I have are bright yellow and have three compartments. They are heavy duty to hold nails, screws, and other hardware. 4 can be stacked in a bucket. They are the cat's meow for stuff like sinkers.

I have done all of the above but was thinking of switching to something like this, no cracking and able to be put in the under seat storage compartment. A srong mesh version would be the cats butt.

I use a simple, economic and convenient method. To set it up, save square or round plastic bottles. One quart milk containers all cut to the same height and placed in a plastic crate side by side will keep your sinkers sorted. If you use round bottles you create in- between spaces that will hold accesories like hook sharpening files or stones, pliers, scent attractants and even sash weights for your wreck markers. A standard milk crate will hold 16 3" square milk bottles. To cut them to preffered height,I use my bandsaw, but you can also stack wood or books and lay a sharp utility knife with the blade extended beyond. Turn the bottle against the blade to cut it. You can even make dividers and have each container hold two different sizes.

go out on trash night find an old diswasher take the basket that holds the forks/knives/spoons ect. I have been using these for years. If you can find a slim one it will fit behind the tow rail (Sorry no pix's boat all covered up right now)

Brilliant!

I guess that would be a great idea for small sinkers . Any special ideas about big inlines and cannon ball sinkers ?????

I use a waterproof plastic "ammo box" that I bought online at Bass Pro. I use them for flares and tools also. They don't scuff or mark the deck and are very strong. I've probably got 15 lbs of sinkers in it.
Good fishing!

I installed a shelf under my port gunnel and I had an afterthought, I am going to section off some of the shelf to hold sinkers. I thought I would make 4 different sections and they are not goiing to be all that big, maybe large enough to hold 20 sinkers each. I use a lot of 4oz, 5oz,6oz and 8oz so I will concentrate on these but also throw in a few heavier ones. Here is a picture of the shelf and I will post when I finish sectioning it off.

located an old picture, dishwasher basket

I like this idea except I don't have a toe rail and don't want one. Water drains out, you can easily see what size lead is in it, easy to grab a lead out of it.

Wonder where I could put a few of those.....hmmmmm.

I've got a local junkyard that parts out dishwasher stuff. Should be able to pickup a few.

Trash can live well, dishwasher utensil lead holder, wow...

I can hear Jeff Foxworthy creating a routine out of this.....

I made a small box out of finished 3/4 plywood and sectioned it off to ounce sizes. The box now rests under my helm seat and is strong enough to support me when i have to stand up to see over the bow or drive standing. Serves both functions very well. Tacked a piece of nonskid on the bottom so it doesnt slide or mar the deck. Suppose oyu can make this out of starboard to but the wood was free...............good luck
