I am not a parker owner and we are not allowed to gaff fish in the bay but we always went under the lower jaw on my dads boat. .
 
Parker has such a low freeboard i just reach over and grab them by the tail.......that way, they're not so pissed when you bring them in the boat to measure them.
 
honestly, it is a chest for a full sized Ford truck and was never meant to bolt to the rails. the sides used to go straight down, but when they changed the f150 in 2004, the wheel wells were further fwd in the bed so i had to bob the box a little to make it fit.

the bow stops on the chest lid (in case you're interested) are for loading kayaks (4) two on the bottom and two on top of those. i don't kayak so much anymore due to trying to cut down on UV exposure.
