How does this look? Does the positive from the batteries go to the On/Off switch or to the breaker first?

your switch and breaker are backwards.

When I build those jumper cables that go across the batteries....Like you I use Red......But Red on the POS end and Black on the NEG end.....Just makes things easier to ID.
