Left Cape Charles Marina at 7:00am on the Buccaneer Captained by Jim
Jenerette. Started first drift between Plantation light and the marina, capt. had marked pods of menhaden. about 1 min. into the drift we picked up the first two fish. 35" and 37". Missed the next two then things slowed down. Had about a 2 hr. lull, capt. moved a few times but nada. We then moved off shore past Plantation light and the bouys. The weather front moved in and all the boats left us. 6 to 7 foot waves made it rough but Capt. Jim stayed on the hunt. Catching picked up and we had our choice of 37" to 44" stripes the rest of the day. Had 2 on at once a few times. We started culling
and last one culled was a 41" fat stripe. Never caught a fish under 35".
Were fishing squirmmy's set 10 to 15 ft. below the bobbers in as much as 80 ft. of water or more. Great day of fishing, good company, great captain,
beautiful fish. We would fish again with Jim anytime. Looking forward to a Cobia trip with him next year.(Picture is of my brother and I and 2 fishing friends..and the fish)
