hey guys, i was in the process of doing a major electronics and paint overhaul on my 1700 parker (pictures will be up once i get enough progress). Started to look at some misc wires that didnt have a purpose, and ran into these. they are some sort of button that you can push/pull... but the wires ended up in the bilge hatch area, and they werent connected to anything. they had 12g marine wires connected to them. anybody have any idea what these are?

That's your basic Cole-Hersey push-pull switch, could be used for just about anything. Only way to know for sure is trace the wires back but you can't..... I'd say they weren't factory installed where you found them. Might have been used for a manual bilge pump or livewell pump switch.

On a Parker this is used for your Navigation and Stern light. Pull half way out and the stern light comes on only. Pull all the way out and the navigation and stern lights come on.

Yea I was going to ask if it had 2 position or 3 position? But it only has 2 terminals, so it must be 2 position ON/OFF.

Like said it's just a ON/OFF switch. used for turning pumps, lights or anythings
else ON/OFF

I use those in the back....beside where the washdown hose and on the other side where the livewell hose bulkhead fittings are mounted under the washboard.

This allows a person to turn these ON/OFF and not bother the Captian. IE: like cleaning fish blood up while the captain is busy maneuvering to the next drop spot.

On my 1700 that switch is used for manual bilge pump operation.

It's one of three... stock nav 3 position, stock bilge 2 position, and an aftermarket 2 position that once ran a bait/washdown pump that now runs undergunnel lights.

thanks for all of the replies. having them in the back for bilge/washdown would be very handy since my friend takes up the entire center console to drive the boat. I think i'm going to install them in the back so i can do bilge/washdown while he drives. i just have to figure out a decent spot to mount them now. thanks for the replies guys!
