For my 1999 2520 I/0. I paid 7k to have mine replaced. Included brand new deck. Tank lasted 20 years. It is now upgraded from 1/8 to 3/16 thickness. Based on previous lifetime, I expect 30 years For this tank.Hi How much was it to replace tank?
Just curious, did you buy another Parker or a different boat.2003 2120. 200hp Yamaha with 700 hours. $16,000 in November 2019. Sold it in November 2020, solid little boat but just a terrible ride in any kind of sea other than flat calm.

Sorry , I know it’s an old thread but I was just curious, I am in the market for a 2320 and I have stayed away from the Yami 225 from years 2003-07I bought a year old 2520SL with 39 hours on the like new Yamaha F225 in the spring of 2006. The boat came equipped with a Furuno RADAR and Raymarine bottom machine and an ancient black and white chart plotter that had been transferred from another boat. The boat looked and smelled brand new and came on a Karavan Trailer that had never been in the water. I bought the boat from a 93 year old owner at a price that for the last 17 years I thought was an amazing deal but after reading your post, I have come to the realization that the old timer took me to the cleaners!!
Boat was under powered with the F225 but the engine did gave me reliable service for many years. Around 2012 (engine was a 2005) midsection was replaced. I was one of the lucky ones who was part of the Boat US negotiation with Yamaha to get us some $$. My out of pocket for an official Yamaha Dealer to replace the midsection only about a $1000. I was very fortunate.Sorry , I know it’s an old thread but I was just curious, I am in the market for a 2320 and I have stayed away from the Yami 225 from years 2003-07
Due to well documented exhaust corrosion. Have you had any issues with your engine? Do you do the update?
Thank you
Thanks for taking the time with a thorough response. I wasn’t aware Boat US had that in place,I am a member as well. I generally avoid those years on Yami’s with those models but one was posted on Boat trader that had on 347 hours which is ridiculously low and not necessarily a good thing when it’s not used . When I did a random search your post came up. I think in regards to those years it’s just a ticking time bomb.Boat was under powered with the F225 but the engine did gave me reliable service for many years. I ran the engine until the end of 2018, she had 1800+ hours. I was turning 4000+ RPMs when she made some really bad noises and stopped abruptly. One of the plugs was destroyed, as in cylinder dropped a valve and the pieces of it took out the plug. I also had more water then oil in the crank case. I didn’t disassemble further but I suspect corrosion caused a lot of salt water to get where it wasn’t supposed to be and saltwater isn’t a good replacement for oil, subsequently the valve failed due to lack of lubrication. Bad things happen fast at 4000+ RPM and the oil was normal less then 2 hours prior to failure.
I don’t wanna sound like a negative Nelly but if you’re looking at boats with Yamaha F225 or F250s in the 2003-2007 model year range, regardless if midsection issues were addressed years ago, those 20 year old engines are near antiques now and while they may still be running unless they are 100% fresh water engines, they’ve been subjected to salt water corrosion for 20+ years and that’s like hiring a 90 year old man to put a roof on your 3 story house .
Yea you might get lucky and get a few years more but IMO you’re running beyond borrowed time..
