Until the ice on the deck gets dangerous, or the ice in the fly rod guides makes it impossible to cast, I continue to fish in the Mid-Atlantic area. No need to go to FL, although someday I'd like to go down there for bonefish on the flats.

Depends on the definition of the word "winterize". Winterize to me means putting up the enclosure and packing the heater!

Gulf Area Florida Fisherman... GAFF magazine :D http://www.gaffmag.net/

check out the website, youll see what i mean. i try to pick up a copy whenever i get down your way.

and believe me, i know of your fisheries. i was just down in the orlando area for thanksgiving, took a quick trip down to the Tampa Bay area for a dive trip. we ended up shooting 4 Amberjacks to about 40#, great fight underwater :D awesome dive, awesome day. you need a deckhand for the winter??

Here is my "Winterizing" routine:

1. Get new supply of clip on bobbers for eeling for stripers
2. pick up about 6 propane canisters for heater
3. get ready to go to Hawaii for two weeks at the end of January

I know...I've got got a rough life....
