Final update..

Switched mechanics and shes fixed
Had her out today for a run and she ran just like she used to.Ran from Jones Inlet to Debs and back and everything is hunky dory once again.
Carbs were rebuilt and the ignition timing/advance ? was adjusted.
Also the gas tank was pumped out because the fuel was bad.This problem started about a day after I refueled...2 months ago.Thankfully we only had 20 or so gallons to be removed.

Anyway she ran great and it was good to feel her go.
Unfortunately she goes beddy bye tomorrow and is being pulled for the winter but we wanted to give her a nice run and make sure the problem was actually fixed.
I haven't talked personally to the mechanic and if he says something worth repeating I'll post it here.

Sadly we missed the entire fall fishing

Ouch, I feel your pain. But you know, the silver lining in the cloud that was over your OB this season is that you have now found a good mechanic. I once went through a similar scenario and the benefit I have gained from finding a really top-notch mechanic has been awesome.
