    New to classic parker

Welcome aboard. There’s a 2520 diesel here in Jacksonville Florida. I talked to him one day at the ramp. He loves his diesel. He said he strictly fished overnight, because it takes so long to get there. Once he’s at the fishing grounds, he doesn’t want to leave and make the trek home. So he...

replace cleat holes with pop up cleats?

Find another modification to do instead of removing, repairing Hawse pipe fittings. It truly does open up more space than cleats. Seems like a complete waste of time and money and energy to go from one system to another. Just try them: you will love them. Wish my new 2320 had hawse...

    2120 vs 23 pilot house

OP: I went from a 2120 which I loved to a 2830 which was too big. I just bought a new Parker 2320, and wow. She is just right. MASSIVE cockpit. GREAT fuel economy ( fishing load: 2.0mgp) Can easily fish 3 plus me. She's fast Finally there is 36 extra gallons of fuel ( increased range over...

    2014 Parker 2520XLD

it wasn’t. I’m confused at the paradox. Best Parker color ever.... newer transom design. Best of both worlds!

    Parker 2120

Heres a pair of threads to read with this modification: https://www.classicparker.com/threads/bracket-put-on-2120-03-parker.13006/ https://www.classicparker.com/threads/have-you-ever-seen-a-2120-sc-with-an-engine-bracket.5492/

Is the gunnel strong enough for a small line puller?

Yep and mod11. Not only did my username get banned from posting, he banned my IP address from even reading the forums. Can’t even open THT. Me and THT have a love/ hate relationship.

    Vertical windlass on a 2120?

agree with you: I was more of a purist back then: If Lewmar stated it needed a direct fall, I was going to build it. However, agreed. The aft Pulpit mounted windlass works just fine, and I will not change it on my 2320. On my 2120, no I never got water in the anchor locker that mattered...

    Vertical windlass on a 2120?

You will want the Lewmar profish 700 on your 2120. The 1000 series is over kill. This is what I mounted on my 2120 nearly 8 years ago. This is what Parker mounted in my 2320. Yes, free fall is what you want. Why wouldn’t you?? Lewmar recommends installing so that the chain and rode fall...

Is the gunnel strong enough for a small line puller?

No. It gets brittle over time and can break. Either encapsulated 3/4" marine ply, Stainless or Aluminum.

any idea on how to make use of the notched transom on a 2120?

Here's what I did when I owned my 2120. A yeti 110 cooler mounted on a "cooler slide" worked very well. Of course, for bilge compartment access, the slide is necessary: when advanced, it pulls the cooler just forward to the compartment so you can access the bilge.

WTB flip up transom bench seat

There's one posted on the classifieds. Otherwise, you could have a local fabricator build you one. They run $1900 from Parker. They really do suck up that space. There are times when I wished I had a rocket launcher mounted there across the inside transom area...but, then when we cruise as a...

    Second Station

You are correct about the low placement of the wheel: I installed an "Edson" speed knob on my outer station steering wheel: that helped. Also, I have a 240 qt Engle Deep blue cooler mounted on my 2320 deck/ cockpit. I sit on the forward aspect of that cooler and drive: Sitting on the cooler...

Is the gunnel strong enough for a small line puller?

100% yes, BUT you MUST put a substantial backing plate beneath the gunnel for support: bigger the better and I would use 1/4" aluminum (T6) for backing plate.

17/18' Trolling Motor Install- Lithium Batteries?

concur 100%: Even thought there are limitations, I don't think this boat would ever justify a 36V system. If I were to do it again, I would install the 24V again on this 1801. Just understand that there are times when the wind and current are so strong, it will not hold the 1801 at spot...

17/18' Trolling Motor Install- Lithium Batteries?

I have never run out of battery use during a day of spot locking on the 1801 with the (2) group 31's. I also will say though that there are days that the 24V will not hold spot lock in the river. The 36 Volt never looses spot lock and easily holds in any current ( even at the ledge last...

WTS 2005 Jones Brothers Cape Fisherman 20 LTE

My Jones brothers 26’ cape fisherman was the smoothest ride in any boat I’ve owned. I can attest to the no pound. The bow RE-entry is amazing. I can also attest to getting ready to feel the pound and it never comes. Loved that hull. If it had a closed transom and motor bracket, I’d probably...

21 deep v two cooler bow seat filler

Oh, the forward seating. 1" thick starboard strips on either side thru bolted, adhesively sealed, then a 1/4" strip of weather stripping on top, then your platform resting on top level to the forward seating. You may need a small section of starboard at the aft corners to keep it from sliding...

    VHF Antenna Height

Ive only installed Digital 529's for the past 8 years: not a single failure. Off shore fishing this past week off of NE Florida I was hearing USCG Charleston, SC broadcasts. I just like the Digital brand and the 529 model.

17/18' Trolling Motor Install- Lithium Batteries?

Lithium is the way to go for : weight ( they weight close to nothing), footprint, longevity. I have just finished installing a 36V system on my Parker 2320 using (3) Relion RG50 12V in series. They weigh 16 pounds each: 48 pounds total of batteries. Minn Kota Terrova ipilot 112 pound thrust...
