And man, I have to tell you, they had zero interest in helping me figure out how to set these up, which ones to choose, angles, weight rating etc.
This website was the ticket, though I didn't use any of their products...
I went with two struts instead of one since I have a poly-type lid vs glass. The dang lid hinges are held onto the transom with gotdam screws vs through bolts. They could have gotten to the backside during assembly. SMH.
If these struts go bad, replacements will be cake to install. I went with...
They will be fine. Any ss bolt is subject to crevice corrosion if not bedded properly. It's not my opinion, I'm just a missionary for the truth. Just follow the permatrim instructions for sealant, and don't make any "crevices."
If you see rust, metal has gone away and hardware has weakend...
I had two sheets of plastic left over from some project that I placed in my locker, then gorilla taped them together so the rode couldn't get under them. My inside surface is unpolished gelcoat that doesn't slide well. I only have 25' of chain, but 275' of 8 plait. It still needs the...
Love these threads. Ask for a little benchmarking to make sure your idea is sound, and then it's done. Good job, "solid" upgrade!
Look at the one pic where you can see a person. Follow the black lead to the console. Is that something that could use a little grinding and glass while you're in...
The bolt-breaking is weird. I would think the force would be upward on the rear. Was there any sign of crevice corrosion on the broken ends? It the the reason non-bedded SS hardware can rust, since the stainless can replenish the oxide layer. If there is rust, ever, metal has been lost. I am...
Apparently a lot of them are installed with a 10mm ball and socket to facilitate replacement. Sort of a spring loaded, pop- on,pop- off deal. I don't have anything right now but the friction hinges, and they are not up to the task. Going with a pair of TaylorMades. I want to through-bolt and...
Andy, I just ran across a video when I was trying to figure out how long the gas struts need to be. Yours MAY be upside down. Last night I checked my Diamondback tonneau cover. Per the video below, I had two of them correct and two of them upside down (rod up). When I flipped them they acted...
Andy, thank you. That is exactly what I'm looking for. I want to move to a 23 SE, and I need to upgrade this.
Love the storage for the rod holder outriggers.
I had a spring holding a hatch on my Seapro. Works great until you inadvertently hit the spring with something. It was guests most...
More pics. Bilge access is ok, not great. All extra bilge wiring is associated with the charger and USS Senior switch. The manufacturers didn't want you shortening the wiring. The pump out head is included, never used. The floor up front under the cushions is a little scuffed from sliding...
I have a '19 2320, with trailer, 80k with trailer, 75k without trailer. Located in central VA. PRE-COVID boat of course.
It has:
Digital control 300Hp Yamaha with 340 hrs., engine warranty until April 2025, and needs no maintenance until then. Turns 5900 RPM at wot at 49 mph. 2nd station on...
