    Gunnel Question

It may depend on the model and year (not sure) but here is a previous post on installing a rod holder in gunnel and shows the wood core on that boat. More than likely your core is the same viewtopic.php?f=11&t=8956

    Repower a 2001 2530

Is this the boat your looking at? https://www.yachtworld.com/boats/2001/p ... 7mJ1FopCf0 If so, it is a Deep V. Nice boat

    Repower a 2001 2530

I may be wrong here but a thought for you to double check on for the 2530. Since it originally came with twin 200s I believe it’s probably a deep V model instead of the modV. If that is the case I am not too certain a 300 will be enough motor for you to be comfortable in. If it is indeed the...

Need some help I have water coming in through my transom

Sorry Jodie, but not sure I understand what or where is happening. Is it coming through where the bracket is attached to the transom? I don’t know of any reason you would have pinholes in transom. Sorry, but can you take pictures of where it’s entering?

    Barnacles on Tub....

John, I live in the same area as you and the Pettit Unepoxy is used often around here, however, not on Aluminum. I assume when you say tub you are referring to your bracket, which is aluminum. Pettit Unepoxy website says "Suitable for all non-aluminum boats" which I would take to mean not...

That is an amazing deal, wish I could use it. Fisher is an outstanding cover.

U Channel for an outboard support plate

Awesome, thanks Warthog. Already drilled the holes for organizing the wiring/bilge hose (great idea). That will work out great as I can get all those damn screws out of my transom and seal them up with epoxy while working on the rest of it. They looked like they had been there for many many...

U Channel for an outboard support plate

Ok, I got my u chanenel in and it was much more sturdy than I thought it would be, that’s a good thing. (I can see why you say 3/16 would work) Any way, I’m posting a picture to see if this is where you say to round the edges. I’m assuming all 4 corners on each end and should I smooth out the...

    2520 xl or 2520XLD

I don’t know how to tell by the HIN however if it has two strakes in the front for a deep V. Mod V would only have one strake. The first pic is a deep v with 2 strakes the 2nd pic is a mod v. ,

U Channel for an outboard support plate

Thanks Roncpl, appreciate the help. I ordered the 1/4” one warthog5 listed as I could get it in a 2’ piece. Also the 1/4” was actually cheaper than the 3/16”. Thanks warthog5 for the response and link, appreciate it and coupon. Will let you all know how it goes, expect to have the part in...

U Channel for an outboard support plate

Thanks Mark. I took a look at the McMaster website and unless I am totally just missing it, I don’t see 1/4” thick, 4” wide aluminum U channel. Did you buy this recently while you were working on your boat? If so, can you shoot me a part number. Thanks for the help.

U Channel for an outboard support plate

I have read a few times, mostly by Warthog5, that a good choice for supporting an outboard bracket, jack plate, or outboard is to use a 4” U Channel. Well, recently I have been doing some maintenance on my boat, including the wiring, which has lead me deep into my bilge area where I cleaned it...

Jack plate on Parker 2300SE? & closing transom on same b

I started a new thread on this so you can ignore below message. I know this is an older thread but I have a question pertaining to the “u channel” being used in place of the typical outboard support plate. What’s is the thickness of the aluminum you recommend? Are there any corrosion concerns...

Heavy stern, possible water logged, listing to starboard.

Hey Sitka, just so you can get the best help, you should consider putting your location in your profile. A lot of times someone near you may respond, understand the water in your area, the weather, may know mechanics, dealers....... it just helps everyone here help you. Just a thought, good...

    08 2510XL F250 real world value

This is just my 2 cents but I always estimated that the Walk Around Parker should carry about the same value as the Pilot House value for my area. IN the case of a well kept 2008 2520/2510 MV (single engine), I think low to mid 50K is reasonable however that would include a trailer and decent...

25 Parker Pilot house with Cobia tower & dual controls

I can not speak for this boat however I can speak for this seller, and I have never met him in person. Back in 2015 I purchased his 1997 2320 and he was very easy to work with and I feel very honest about the boat. I live In Maryland and bought his boat site unseen, just by conversing with him...

    Marine Fuel App?

John, a few years ago it was very difficult to get ethanol free fuel in our area. I remember going to the website pure-gas.org and you could locate ethanol free gas for every state. It was helpful back then but fortunately we have a few more options today. Anyway, they did have an app for the...

    23se for Lake Erie?

Well, I have never ridden on a 23se however I would truly feel that boat would be fine with a 200hp. I own a 2320 with a 200 and it's a dog however the 2320/2300 hull is a deep V hull (21degree) and the 23se is a 14 degree hull which does not plow through the water like the other hulls...

    Mixed Bag in NC

Great report, looks like a very exciting day. Makes me a little jealous :D Give us some more reports when you can, I'm currently not fishing due to a recent neck surgery and certainly enjoy reading them.
