Rebirth of a Classic Parker-2000 2520 MV Yamaha 300 Repower

Hi Jim, Kept the motor in the same hole position as the old 225. Seems to be the right fit. That puts the cav plate skimming the surface while on plane. Maybe I will try the 15 3/4 X 15 prop this summer.... Also have to generate a table of fuel efficiency #'s etc... now that she is broken...

Rebirth of a Classic Parker-2000 2520 MV Yamaha 300 Repower

Thanks Brad, I'm just glad that with all the poking and prodding, ripping and tearing apart, that nothing nasty was uncovered and she has many more years of life in her. John

Rebirth of a Classic Parker-2000 2520 MV Yamaha 300 Repower

This is a “rebirth” more than a repower, since it involved a lot more than just the Outboard. I decided to repower last year for two reasons, 1.) I was too busy to do any of it myself (therefore I knew it would get done quickly  ) and 2.) My OX66 225 was working well (quit while I was...

    Not an owner yet...

Welcome aboard Badfish! Big jump from skiing to fishing….. but you obviously recognize classic design and quality workmanship if you have set your focus on a Parker. And you have also landed in the right place to learn all about them on ClassicParker. :) If it can be done on, in, under...

    Scuba tank storage

Works every time!  The REAL benefit to storing tanks horizontally is that they are out of sight. Not having a half-dozen tanks peeking up over the gunnels has significantly reduced our frequency of boarding by Environmental Police, Shellfish Constables, and others looking to...

    Scuba tank storage

We usually carry 8 aluminum 80's on my 2520MV. Four in a pelican rack inside the cabin behind the helm seat against the bulkhead, and four (two under each gunnel) under the gunnels horizontally in "scubatubes" that I made out of 8" PVC. I sliced the PVC in half lengthwise, two SS hinges...

    Spring 2014 Project Time !

.............Must be the pearlescent white paint job on the OB covers creating an illusion, but I -swear- the Port engine looks like it's mounted higher than the Stb one...... :? :? Or does your camera have a list?

Splash 2014 Season .......a tad early as usual

Beautiful day on the water yesterday, not another boat out and about in sight anywhere. Mooring fields empty..... Except of course for another ClassicParker!!!

Splash 2014 Season .......a tad early as usual

During launch we had to contend with ICE on the deck! Now -that's- a first for us! Judging from the state of readiness of the boats on the hard at my Marina, with many still deep under shrink and with dirty bottoms, I'd say things are at least two weeks, maybe more, behind schedule...

    Parker wants your input!!!!

Survey completed. Very happy to see that Parker is continually engaging in market research to stay in touch with their present and future customers. :) I'd be very worried if they weren't. If they wind up putting in a few more creature comforts like sound systems to increase...
