Are you going to do all the glass work? I'm also curious if you plan on keeping the boat or are you going to sell her. A mutual friend told me about this project before I found your thread. I've enjoyed watching the progress through your pictures, so keep them coming.

Yes, I will be doing all the glass work myself. I think I might keep it, but not 100% right now. Who is the mutual friend? You are welcome to come by and see the project.

I would love to see the work in project. Our mutual friend is your neighbor Brent. I live in Tarboro and have almost wrecked my car looking at the boat driving down Albemarle. If it's ok, I'd love to stop by when you are working on the project to get a better understanding of the guts of a boat. Brent mentioned the project to me because I have been looking for a boat, and Parker's are high on my wish list. While surfing on the Hull Truth, a link to Classic Parker came up and I saw your thread coincidentally. Very neat.

I have been working on small items in the shop such as switch panel, wet sanding the console and first round of buffing with 1000 grit aquabuff. I have removed the stringers and glues and screwed the floor supports to the tops of the stringers and they are under my shelter waiting to be glassed...I have OA Ordeal this weekend so another obligation. If I can get a clear day with warm weather I will begin glassing and we will see this project start to move.

Your stringer layout and elevations look spot-on. Great job thus far.

Don't loose focus now.

How do you plan on attaching the stringers to the hull? Tabbing with epoxy or polyester? What type of material are you using?

And what's your plan of attack for attaching the deck to the stringers beyong SS screws (I'd suggest a large box of pan head #10x1.5" and no washers..... just sink the head anout 1/8" below the plywood and fill the hole with epoxy/cabosil). Are you going to use 5200 between the deck and stringers? A thin layer of chop-strand laid on top of the stringers and allow to harden after screwed down?

I will be double tabbing the stringers to the hull with a backed Roven Roving...pretty substantial glass. I am using polyester resin. I already have a box of 1.5" screws that will be used to attach to the stringers. I am going to glass some thin chopped mat on each stringer at the top and use 5200 to bond between the stringer and the fully encapsulated floor. I have not fully decided on how to join the plywood floor pieces yet. Any ideas? At this time I am debating biscuit joints and half lapping the pieces. The only problem I see with half lapping is calculating (trial and error) the lap size to ensure a smooth floor.

That would be pretty strong but 3/4" plywood doesn't leave much angle. Most ratios of length to thickness are 1:8 or 1:12. That is a fairly long joint and very difficult to cut cleanly.

Finally got a break and glassed the stringers. Put on the suit and respirator this evening and ground all the areas to tab in the stringers. Hopefully tomorrow evening I will be bedding stringers and getting this projected into high gear.

Finally have a weekend to work on the boat. Started tonight and got the stringers bedded and in place. Tomorrow I will start glassing stringers and hope to make huge progress this weekend.

Great start this afternoon. All stringers have the first layer of glass down and I am itching horribly...will get on final layer tomorrow. More pics tomorrow evening.

Working on the bottom of the console where I had to cut some of the glass to remove it

Looks like your really doing a nice job. Are you going to fully encapsulate the stringers in glass?

When your ready to put the deck on, will you use a ledger board along all the edges to catch the ends of the plywood where it meets the hull?

The stringers are already encapsulated in glass before being tabbed to the hull. The floor doesn't need a ledger on the edges as the outside stringer is only 10" from the edge. From the factory it is only tabbed up to the hull...my plan is to put it back like it was.
