on a 21se repower does anyone have experience going from a 150 yam 4 stroke to a 200 yam 4 stroke 4 cylinder/considering a repower and if there are suzuki upgrades out there please chime in

Suzuki has a 175 and a 200... Both are inline 4 cylinder engines. I believe you would have a smile from ear to ear with a DF 200 Suzzy. :)

I have a 21SE with a 200 Suzuki on it. Don't think twice about it.....slap her on there!

I'd also recommend installing the Suzuki Multi-Function Gauge when doing so.

I would also recommend hydraulic steering if you do not have that on already.

I believe you have to have hydronic for that motor. At least, thats what my mechanic told me when they were installing the motor.
They replaced my mechanical steering as part of the install - and I trust them 100%.

Does the Suzuki require 89 like the Yamaha? I remember seeing some 200 Suzuki owners manual calling for 91! Might have been an overseas version. Can someone with a 200 Suzuki peer check this? 91 would add to the fuel cost considerably.

I use 87. My dealer said using a higher octane is unnecessary. They recommended using Yammlube fuel additive, which I add every time I fill up.

No it's not like the Yamaha.... You can use 87....... I do not use 87 and here is why.

How long will your boat sit? Answer: You do not know...Especially this time of year. You also never know when something will happen to prevent the boats use.

Engine requires a min of 87...... BUT.... in 30days that number will drop below that.

I run 91 or 93 Non Ethanol with
STAR BRITE
Star Tron® Gasoline Additive in it.

Say what you will.. How many Hundreds of dollars will it cost in the shop to ungum injectors and clean the tank?

When you look at it that way.... The extra cost of GOOD fuel is a bargain. It' what goes in my mowers also.
