I would also recommend hydraulic steering if you do not have that on already.I have a 21SE with a 200 Suzuki on it. Don't think twice about it.....slap her on there!
I'd also recommend installing the Suzuki Multi-Function Gauge when doing so.
I use 87. My dealer said using a higher octane is unnecessary.
Does using Valve-Tect gasoline negate the needed for Star Tron? Are the additives in Valve-Tect similar? the same? as Star Tron...No it's not like the Yamaha.... You can use 87....... I do not use 87 and here is why.
How long will your boat sit? Answer: You do not know...Especially this time of year. You also never know when something will happen to prevent the boats use.
Engine requires a min of 87...... BUT.... in 30days that number will drop below that.
I run 91 or 93 Non Ethanol with
STAR BRITE
Star Tron® Gasoline Additive in it.
Say what you will.. How many Hundreds of dollars will it cost in the shop to ungum injectors and clean the tank?
When you look at it that way.... The extra cost of GOOD fuel is a bargain. It' what goes in my mowers also.
I cannot find non-ethanol gas anywhere in NJ and the state is home for many boats. I found a non- ethanol directory on line and it stated zero places offer non-ethanol. Does anyone in NJ have any leads to find this "preferred" fuel? I use 89 octane in my Yamaha 200 online with zero issues over 4 seasons. No it's not like the Yamaha.... You can use 87....... I do not use 87 and here is why.
