Charged batteries #1 and #2 ,checked all cells on both batteries and volt meter shows both at 12.5 to 13 volts.Placed switch to #1 , all electronics and trim and tilt work.Switch to #2 ,elctronics show low voltage and tilt will not work. Rechecked cells on #2 ,but all are good. My next question is the selecter switch and possible problems with the contacts.Does any one have any other ideas or suggestions.

Could be a bad selector switch.

Batteries are best checked under a load. A battery with a bad cell or two can still give a good voltage reading with no load applied.

Don't know the age of the batteries, age of selector switch or condition of connections.

I would test the battery in question under load. Have a buddy hit the trim switch on the engine while you take a voltage reading at the battery terminals. That should tell you where the problem may be (bad battery, bad connections, or bad selector switch).

Sure! Easiest test is to RESISTANCE check the POS battery cable lead from battery #2 to the battery switch and then then do same check on the battery switch connections, fro COMMON to #2 pole. I had a battery switch go bad!

Early this morning went down to the marina and put the #2 (battery in question)in the #1 spot , then operated the tilt and nothing. So #2 is junk,I suspect #2 has some bad cells and I'll also check the contacts on the selecter. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.I'll let you know what happens.

Now that's the EASIEST way :D to diagnose anything ... swap it out ;) ! That's where the beauty of a twin-screw install really shines.

Went to Costco this afternoon (fridays are a zoo).Dale you would have been proud, group 27 dual purpose for 67.99 plus tax with exchange. I know there are many that would prefer a more expensive brand, but money is a factor. Now I have an interstate and a costco ( I do not know who the parent company is) we'll see how they do. Had dual costco batteries in my CC for about a year prior to its sale with out issues. Thank you for the help. I have to learn to post pictures, this morning the boat was a mess the raccoons must of had a frat party on my boat. No chewed up wires or damage just muddy paw prints all over.
